Descendants of Ramapir: The Living Legacy of Ramdevji Maharaj

Family tree of Baba Ramdev Ji (Ramdevra Rajasthan).

The divine lineage of Baba Ramdevji Maharaj, revered as Ramapir, continues to this day through his children and their descendants who uphold his spiritual heritage. Ramdevji had two sons and a daughter, the latter being born four months after his Samadhi. The princess, Chandra Kanwar, was married to Hapaji, son of Gogadevji from a small village named Satarva.

Ramdevji’s elder son, Saadaji, later left Ramdevra and established a new settlement known as Saada, located about 15 kilometers from Ramdevra. Even today, the descendants of Saadaji reside in this village, preserving their ancestral traditions.

The younger son, Devaaji, had two sons — Ranoji and Bhanoji. The Samadhi Temple of Ramapir in Ramdevra is currently managed by the descendants of Ranoji, while Bhanoji’s descendants receive a share of the temple’s income. The revenue from the temple is traditionally divided into 750 shares, symbolizing the enduring unity of Ramdevji’s lineage.

In the modern era, Raoji Shri Jaswantsinhji Tanwar, the sixteenth descendant of Baba Ramdevji, carried forward this sacred legacy until his passing in June 2011. His son, Raoji Shri Bhumisinhji Tanwar (Bhomsinhji), now serves as the current Gadi-pati (spiritual head), continuing the noble traditions of Ramapir’s divine family.
